Data visualization is a crucial skill for many marketers. Most people might think that the only charts we encounter are the ones that you see in presentations; nicely designed and formulated data in its simplest form, better known as “DataViz.” Although DataViz is important when relaying to management about matters such as sales performances and projections, it’s not the most important most important type of data visualization in tech marketing.
Visual discovery, a two-pronged form of visualization, aids in confirming or discovering data that could potentially help business. For example, while trying to determine an ad spend strategy, I had to comb through our website analytics to determine the best time and device type to market to. Luckily for me, Google Analytics does an amazing job of showcasing this information in easy-to-understand graphs.
