It’s crazy to think that I have been interning almost four months already. Even crazier to see how much I have learned and in turn, how much I have taught others. Handling two teams of students and two nonprofit leaders have been challenging. It taught me how to have real project management skills when it pertains to clients and employees. Trying to keep clients happy and inspire employees to produce content that will give results is almost exhausting at times. However, this has given me experience that I will value for the rest of my life.
Hopefully the Cause Marketing Project will be able to expand past the tri-county area and be implemented in schools everywhere. Of course, to be able to do that the program will need some fine tuning, but I am confident that the program can change the way universities teach. The hands-on approach of the program allowed me to get the experience I need as a project manager, and I’m extremely confident that the skills and knowledge I gained will help me excel.
I truly want to thank my professor Dr. Ann Root for giving me the opportunity to do an independent study for this project, and for being an amazing marketing professor. I also want to thank my fellow interns Joe, Nadiya, Nadia, and Rachel for being amazing teammates and support system. We got so much accomplished together this semester. And finally, I would like to thank my boss Alex Oliveira, for giving me the opportunity to work under his tutelage. He has been such mentor and inspiration to me. This program is all his doing, and I know because of him, the program will have an everlasting effect.
